United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss said on Thursday that her government's new economic policy is the "right plan."
"It's not necessarily easy but we have to do it," she told BBC Radio. Truss added the decisions have been "controversial and difficult" but that they were made "to get economy growing" and provide support for the British ahead of a "very difficult winter."
She stressed that Downing Street and the Bank of England are working very closely and that global markets are experiencing difficulties, implying that the UK is not the only country going through market volatility.
