Russia begins production of hypersonic cruise missiles

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu (pictured) revealed on Saturday the production of hypersonic cruise missiles has begun, speaking on the air of the Rossiya-1 TV Channel.

"We are starting mass production of Zircon missiles, we have actually put it into service, and the relevant documents will be signed this year," said Shoigu, noting that this is a confirmation that Russia is "far" from being isolated because the military industry "has worked and is still working thoroughly, reliably, confidently."

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the delivery of the latest Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles to the Admiral Gorshkov frigate will begin in the "coming months."
