Russian President Vladimir Putin accused on Monday Ukraine of "acts of nuclear terrorism" and stated that the Ukrainian forces carried out three attacks on the Kursk and Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plants. He added that Ukraine "has placed itself on the same level as international terrorist groups," claiming it attempted to undermine sections of the TurkStream gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey.
Commenting on the attacks on Ukrainian cities, Putin said they were "high-precision strikes" targeting military, communications and energy facilities. "If attempts to carry out terrorist attacks against our territory continue, Russia's response will be tough and will correspond in scale to the level of the threats posed to the Russian Federation," Putin told his Security Council.
