Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing early Thursday morning (local time) to fulfill his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping's invitation for a state visit which will last until Friday.

The visit will begin in Beijing, where the two leaders are expected to discuss economic cooperation, the situation in Ukraine, and other political and regional matters. Then, Putin will travel to Harbin in China’s northernmost province to open the VIII Russian-Chinese Expo and the IV Russian-Chinese Forum on Interregional Cooperation held there.
