Qatar's Sheikh Jassim to up bid for Manchester Utd

Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani is expected to increase his bid for Manchester United before today's 11 pm CET deadline, The Guardian reported on Friday.

According to the report, Sheikh Jassim, who wants to buy 100% of the English football club, plans to offer less than £5 billion for Manchester United, despite the club's current owners seeking to get £6 billion.

Meanwhile, INEOS Group Limited Chairman Jim Ratcliffe, who is the only other publicly declared bidder, is reportedly planning to acquire just over 50% of the club.
