Qatar: Events in Rafah may endanger ceasefire talks

Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs remarked on Monday that the latest happenings taking place in Rafah could hurt negotiations regarding ceasefire and hostages.

Qatar "condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli bombardment that targeted a camp sheltering displaced people in Rafah ... and left dozens of martyrs and injures, considering it a serious violation of international laws," the ministry wrote in a statement. The ministry further urged Israel to abide by the International Court of Justice's order, calling on the international community to put pressure on the country.

Qatar believes that this behavior will not only "complicate ongoing mediation efforts," but also further exacerbate the effects of the war "on regional and international security."
