Russia's Roscosmos space agency aborted on Thursday the launch of three astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).

The event occurred seconds before the scheduled lift-off. The crew, comprising NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson, Roscosmos astronaut Oleg Novitsky, and Belarusian Marina Vasilevskaya, remained unharmed following the aborted launch from the Baikonur facility in Kazakhstan.

An automatic safety system triggered the termination of the launch sequence, although the specific reasons for the abort have not been disclosed. Despite the lack of immediate details on the cause, NASA confirmed all crew members' safety.
