Russia opens criminal cases against foreign journalists

Russia's Federal Security Service opened on Tuesday criminal cases against Deutsche Welle journalist Nicholas Connolly and Ukrainian channel 1+1 correspondent Natalia Nagornaya for illegally crossing the border while filming in the Sudzha district of the Kursk region.

"The Russian FSB has opened and is investigating criminal cases under Part 3 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the FSB Public Relations Center showed.

Since August 17, a total of seven foreign journalists have been targeted with similar charges.
