Russia is illegally forcing civilians from the Russian-controlled Donbas region to take up arms and fight on the frontlines of the main clashes, the Kiev Independent reported on Saturday.
Interviewed Donbas civilians stated that they witnessed the forced conscription of many of their friends and colleagues, with some stating that they were coerced into joining the Russian forces under the threat of otherwise being shot.
