South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) claimed that North Korea launched two ballistic missiles to the east, stressing that one short-range ballistic missile and another unidentified ballistic missile were fired from the Jangyon area in South Hwanghae Province.
"While strengthening our monitoring and vigilance against additional launches, our military is maintaining a full-readiness posture while sharing North Korean ballistic missile data with US and Japanese authorities," the JSC said in a statement.
Previously, the North Korean Foreign Ministry slammed trilateral military drills conducted by the United States, South Korea, and Japan, emphasizing that the three countries are developing "the Asian version of NATO."
