S. Korea Boeing crash: 179 presumed dead, 2 rescued

All but two passengers out of 181 on board the Jeju Air flight from Bangkok to Muan, South Korea, are presumed dead, Yonhap reported, citing the country's authorities.

Only two people have been confirmed rescued after the plane skidded off the runway during landing at Muan International Airport and hit a fence, causing a fire. The plane was completely destroyed as a result of the ensuing explosion.

The destroyed aircraft was a Boeing 737-800. According to Jeju Air Company, the plane had been in use for 15 years.
