United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer vowed on Friday that the upper congressional chamber will focus on funding the government and preventing "House Republican extremists" from causing a shutdown.

Writing in a Senate address obtained by Politico, Schumer insisted that President Joe Biden's administration managed to take the necessary steps to enable the economy to gain momentum while noting that the "MAGA [Make America Great Again] Republicans" are trying to endanger those accomplishments because they "want to play political games."

Schumer reminded that the country nearly went into default earlier this year and that the Republicans must be stopped from causing the same problem.
