Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said on Tuesday that Ukraine's counteroffensive has failed to reach any of its goals in any direction and that its military has suffered "colossal losses" in the process. "The Ukrainian leadership is desperately trying to demonstrate to Western curators at least some success in offensive operations in order to further obtain military and economic assistance, which only prolongs the conflict," he said.
Shoygu pointed out that the "most tense" situation currently is in the Zaporizhzhia region. "The enemy brought into battle brigades from the strategic reserve, whose personnel were trained under the guidance of Western instructors," he said.
