Taiwan hit by 5.5-magnitude earthquake

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Taiwan, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) data on Monday.

The quake occurred at a depth of 13 kilometers and 66 km SSW of Hualien City, Taiwan.

The tremor follows the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck on Sunday, leaving 146 people injured and property damaged, according to the fire department.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 rocked Tajikistan on Sunday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.The quake's epicenter was registered 25 kilometers east of the Rasht district, at a depth of 12.6 kilometers.The country's Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CECS) noted that 17 residential buildings and a school in eastern Tajikistan were partially destroyed in the quake.
