5.8-magnitude quake hits Tajikistan

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 rocked Tajikistan on Sunday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake's epicenter was registered 25 kilometers east of the Rasht district, at a depth of 12.6 kilometers.

The country's Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CECS) noted that 17 residential buildings and a school in eastern Tajikistan were partially destroyed in the quake.
