TikTok does not give users' info to China's gov't - exec

ByteDance Ltd.'s TikTok does not pass on users' information to the Chinese government, the company's Vice President and Head of Public Policy in the United States Michael Beckerman (pictured) told the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation on Tuesday.

"We're seeking to earn trust through a higher level of action, transparency, and accountability, as well as the humility, to learn and improve," he stated.

Beckerman appeared before the Senate alongside Alphabet Inc.'s YouTube and Snap Inc.'s representatives to discuss steps how to protect users online.
