Top US general travels to Syria

United States Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, General Mark Milley, visited Syria on Saturday for the first time as a top US general, CNN reported on Sunday, citing his spokesman Col. Dave Butler.

During his visit, he met with US troops in northeast Syria and inspected force protection measures, the report stated.

Milley's visit comes two weeks after a rocket strike on US and coalition forces in Syria, which resulted in no injuries or damages to the base, according to US Central Command.
