Aides of former United States President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held conversations over setting up a potential meeting between the two during the latter's visit to Washington, NBC News reported on Monday citing sources briefed on the matter.
One of the sources shared that Trump's schedule would only be open on July 23, when Netanyahu is set to meet with incumbent President Joe Biden. Another source mentioned that Trump's team sees Netanyahu seeking a meeting to "reconcile" with the former head of state.
While the two were on good terms during Trump's mandate, things went south after Biden took office, with Trump openly criticizing Netanyahu over his failure to prevent Hamas' October 7 attack.
