A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to fully restore the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) program.
The ruling means the Department of Homeland Security must start accepting new applications starting next week.
DACA, introduced by former President Barack Obama in 2012, protects undocumented immigrants known as Dreamers that arrived in the US as children from deportation. The Trump administration had been trying to wind down the program since the president took office in 2017.
