United States President Donald Trump is supposedly planning to nominate RNC executive Sean Cairncross as his national cyber director, Axios reported, citing a list of new administration nominations it obtained.

If approved, Cairncross would play a crucial role in the Trump administration's cyber policy decisions and its response to cyberattacks. He is one of the people named in a "long list" of nominees that the White House has sent to Congress, the news agency said, citing the document.

Cairncross had previously served as former deputy assistant to the president in the first Trump administration and was the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a foreign assistance agency.
