United States President Donald Trump is allegedly planning to sign an executive order dismantling the US Education Department on March 20, according to Politico.

The order will direct Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to "take all necessary steps to facilitate" the closure of her department and thereby "return education authority to the State." However, the order will also instruct the secretary to ensure her department still provides its services, benefits and programs, according to a summary of the order obtained by the news agency.

The order will also direct that all activities and programs still receiving Education Department funds do not advance diversity, equity, inclusion, or gender ideology, according to the White House.
