United States President Donald Trump fired two members of the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), namely Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya and Commissioner Rebecca Slaughter.

In a post on X, Bedoya called the move "illegal" and stated that "this is corruption plain and simple." Furthermore, he accused Trump of wanting "the FTC to be a lapdog for his golfing buddies." He announced that he will testify before Colorado Joint House and Senate Judiciary Committees where he writes he will "have more to say."

Additionally, Slaughter also stated she had been "illegally" fired by the president, "violating the plain language of a statute and clear Supreme Court precedent."
