Trump to offer federal workers buyouts to resign

The White House will issue a memo Tuesday offering federal employees buyouts if they resign by February 6, Axios reported, citing a senior administration official.

The offer will reportedly exclude military personnel, Postal Service employees and workers in immigration enforcement or national security. It aims to encourage workers unwilling to return to offices full-time to leave their positions. Employees who accept the offer will be able to remain on payroll through September 30.

The cited official said the plan is part of a broader effort to enforce stricter workplace standards, noting, "Just 6% of federal employees work full-time in office. That is unacceptable."
