United States President Donald Trump praised his proposed "gold card" fast-track visa program, designed to replace the existing EB-5 program, stating that it would help "pay down a tremendous amount of debt."

"Let's say we sell a million of them. That's five trillion dollars. We are now an unbelievably successful country," Trump said in a Fox News interview. "Generally people that can pay $5 million are going to be job producers," he added. Trump dismissed concerns regarding "unsavory people" acquiring what he said could be called "the Trump card."

He stressed that everyone will be "properly" vetted and that if "somebody's wrong, we give them their money back and send them out."
