United States President Donald Trump stated on Friday that the previous president Barack Obama viewed North Korea as the largest security threat and was ready to start a war with Pyongyang. During his press briefing, Trump added that he now has a very good relationship with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and that two countries are negotiating, despite the rough beginning of the dialogue.
He also said that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has sent him a letter in which he announced that he personally nominated US president for the Nobel peace prize due to the success of these negotiations.
Trump assessed that Japan is now feeling safe as the North Korean missile launches near its territorial waters have ceased due to the success of the high-level negotiations, which will continue in Hanoi, Vietnam, later this month.
