Trump: Waltz's colleague added journalist to chat

United States President Donald Trump said in a Newsmax interview that a colleague of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, not Waltz himself, added The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat where top officials discussed strikes on the Houthis in Yemen.

He said it was a lower-level employee with access to Goldberg's number who added the journalist. Trump also dismissed concerns about the group's discussions, saying he was not worried about the situation.

In the same interview, the US president criticized both Goldberg and The Atlantic.
