British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Wednesday that the government will take action on unreasonable strikes by introducing "tougher laws." Speaking in the House of Commons, Sunak addressed MPs and said that the law would protect people from disruption caused by strikes.
Sunak told the Commons: "If the union leaders continue to be unreasonable, then it is my duty to take action to protect the lives and livelihoods of the British public."
Key strikes continued in the United Kingdom with more planned in the build-up to the holiday season. Postal strikes started in August and have continued intermittently causing major delays, as ambulance workers plan to strike over pay demands, as well as railway workers.
