British Trade Secretary Liz Truss confirmed she will officially start trade talks with Canada and Mexico next week, according to an interview given to the Daily Express.
Truss reiterated that, since the United Kingdom left the European Union, it started trade negotiations with India, New Zealand as well as Australia, with the latter expected to be finalized by June.
At the same time, Truss noted that the UK is preparing to start negotiating the terms of its membership in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the trade bloc consisting of 11 nations of the Asia-Pacific region.
