United States President Joe Biden stated that "you can't love your country only when you win" and "love your neighbor only when you agree," while expressing his hope that the question of the integrity of the election system in the US will now be "laid to rest."
"I know for some people it's a time for victory, to state the obvious, for others, it's a time of loss," said Biden, emphasizing the need to "bring down the temperature" in US politics. He said the election system is fair and transparent, regardless of who wins.
Biden's remarks may have been directed at his predecessor in the White House and President-elect Donald Trump who questioned the integrity of the 2020 presidential election which he lost to Biden.
