The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) canceled Friday $182 million worth of contracts that were not related to any healthcare programs, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced.
In a post on X, DOGE said the contracts were related to administrative expenses. On Thursday, it was reported that US President Donald Trump was preparing an executive order eliminating thousands of jobs across several healthcare agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
