US erases gains, trades mostly lower as tech stocks dip

EPA-EFE/JUSTIN LANE

Equities on the major stock market indices in the United States erased on Thursday their early-session gains and started trading mostly in the red.

The sentiment, most apparent in relation to stocks of technology companies, was seemingly impacted by rising bond yields. In business, the investors expected Twitter Inc.'s response to Elon Musk's takeover bid.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat at 12:32 pm ET, while the Nasdaq 100 dropped 1.6% at the same time. A minute later, the S&P 500 went down by 0.73%. The euro was 0.61% down compared to the dollar, selling for 1.08245 at 12:33 pm ET.
