Stock indexes in the United States opened Thursday's session with gains as investors are still digesting the ECB decision to raise interest rates by 0.25 percentage points and waiting for Arm Holding to debut on the Nasdaq exchange. Producer price index, retail sales and jobless claims data are also being analyzed.
At the opening bell, the Dow Jones gained 0.56%, with Goldman Sachs up 1.16%. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 added 0.59% with Warner Bros Discovery jumping 2.19%. The S&P 500 rose 0.57%, as PENN Entertainment jumped 6.10% a minute later.
The euro was down by 0.58% against the dollar at 9:29 am ET, selling for $1.06671.
