US opens higher with megacap stocks, Fed in focus

United States equities kicked off the first trading session of the week with higher results as investors paid special attention to the mega-cap companies Tesla and Apple, as they saw gains during premarket trading. Additionally, investors eagerly awaited the Federal Reserve's upcoming decision on interest rates, which is scheduled for Wednesday.

Paramount, the renowned entertainment company, is expected to announce its earnings for the first quarter of 2024 after the market closes amid reports suggesting that its board of directors has decided to fire its current CEO Bob Bakish, effective today.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average grew 0.22% at the opening as Apple added 3.56%. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.43% while the S&P 500 rose 0.32% at 9:32 am ET. Tesla Inc., skyrocketing 12.91%, bosted both indexes.

The euro increased by 0.09% against the dollar at 9:29 am ET to sell for $1.06997.
