The US Department of State issued a security alert on Friday for US citizens in Syria, citing credible threats of "imminent attacks."
The alert includes locations frequented by tourists, with risks of "terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, hostage-taking, armed conflict, and unjust detention. No part of Syria should be considered safe from violence." "The Travel Advisory for Syria is at Level 4: Do Not Travel," they stressed.
The Department warned that terrorists continue to target public events, hotels, and crowded areas, using methods such as bombings or armed attacks.
