Zelensky warns against 'indecision' on Sweden, Ukraine NATO bids

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged NATO on Friday to accept Sweden and Ukraine as new memebers and warned that the alliance's "indecision" on the matter poses a "threat to global security."

Most NATO members are ready to welcome Sweden to the alliance and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg recently expressed confidence such a move could happen during next week's summit in Vilnius. However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is still undecided on the matter, insisting Ankara will not support Sweden's bid unless Stockholm resolves the issue of its alleged support for "terrorism."

Regarding Ukraine, the alliance has stressed it wants the country will become a member but Stoltenberg pointed out Kiev must win the war against Russia in order to engage in a "meaningful" discussion joining NATO.
