European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell (pictured) condemned on Wednesday what he defined as an "illegal referenda" held in Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.
"EU denounces holding of illegal 'referenda' and their falsified outcome," said Borrell on Twitter, adding that "this is another violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and its territorial integrity, amidst systematic abuses of human rights."
Earlier in the morning, it was learned that voters in the Lugansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic supported joining Russia.
