United States National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby said on Friday, at a press conference, that Russia's mass burial site found in Izium, a city that was recently liberated by Ukraine, is "horrifying" and "repugnant."

Kirby stressed that this is "sadly in keeping with the kind of depravity in the brutality with which Russian forces have been prosecuting this war against Ukraine and [its] people." He noted that the US will continue to "actively support efforts to document war crimes and atrocities Russia commits in Ukraine."

Kirby shared that Washington plans to continue to provide Ukraine with "key capabilities to meet their evolving battlefield requirements."
