Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated during an interview with RIA Novosti on Friday that the Council of Europe's (CoE) lack of reaction to the terrorist attack on Moscow's Crocus City Hall is a "shame."
Zakharova questioned the Council of Europe's ability to contribute to international stability and defend human rights. "This is another shameful page in the history of the organization, which is vainly trying to call itself the conscience of Europe and claim to be the main defender of human rights on the European continent," she stressed.
She expressed that she considers the organization to be "mired in political hypocrisy and double standards."
