Kiev's "terrorist attacks" will not go unanswered, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Saturday in relation to the Ukrainian attack against a Russian tanker in the Kerch Strait.

"There can be no justification for such barbaric actions; they will not go unanswered, and their authors and executors will inevitably be punished," Zakharova said. "The Kiev regime, without encountering condemnation from Western countries and international organizations, is actively using new terrorist methods, this time in the Black Sea."

According to media reports, an attack against a Russian tanker occurred early Saturday morning. Russian authorities have identified the targeted vessel as SIG.
