Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it is "impossible" for the war in his country to end "this week" with necessary "security guarantees" for his country.
Speaking at the Ukraine: the Year 2025 forum, Zelensky stressed that the main goal now is to force Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the "hot phase" of the war. "This is what everyone wants," he stated and added that United States President Donald Trump's goal is to achieve a ceasefire and end the "hot phase" by the end of the year.
The Ukrainian leader also expressed hope that the meetings with European leaders in Kiev on the anniversary of the start of the conflict will mark a "turning point" in the war.
