Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remarked on Tuesday in his address to Japan's Diet that the international community, particularly the United Nations (UN), is not doing enough to help his country as it is experiencing Russia's military intervention.
"Russia has used more than a thousand missiles and a countless number of air bombs against the peaceful cities of Ukraine. Russian troops have destroyed dozens of our cities, and some of them have been burnt to ashes," Zelensky told the Japanese parliament, urging Tokyo to tighten its measures against Moscow.
Back in February, Japan imposed a series of sanctions on Russia over its military operation in Ukraine. Amid the crisis, the country's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida called for the reform of the United Nations (UN) Security Council (UNSC).
