The Boeing Company allegedly failed 33 out of 89 product audits during a six-week examination of the company's production process of the Boeing 737 MAX jet, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.
The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) conducted the examination after a door panel blew off a Boeing 737 MAX 9 during an Alaska Airlines flight in early January. The FAA also reported "97 instances of alleged noncompliance," in the company's production process.
During the FAA's probe into Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, Inc., which makes the fuselage of the 737 Max, 13 product audits were conducted, with the manufacturer failing seven, according to FAA's presentation viewed by the news agency.
