China expects its gas storage capacity will double by the end of 2025 compared to the levels reported in 2021, China's director of National Energy Administration Zhang Jianhua said on Wednesday.
Furthermore, the administration noted that energy consumption will probably rise in the second half of 2022.
Previously, Russia's Gazprom said its gas deliveries to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline reached a new record high on July 24, soon after noting another record-high level on July 19 and July 17. Simultaneously, the Russian oil and gas giant is reducing its gas transport to the European Union, causing a surge in gas prices and leading to the bloc deciding to reduce its gas consumption by 15%.
