United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Burns (pictured) had a meeting with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) in mid-April in the Middle Eastern country, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing anonymous American officials.
One source described the sitdown in Jeddah as "a good conversation" with a "better tone" than some of the previous discussions between senior officials from the two countries.
The newspaper's insiders did not specify the topics of the conversation, but the report noted that the two sides have different views on oil production, the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the Ukraine crisis, the Iran nuclear deal and the Yemen war.
