Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike's stocks slumped over 14% on Friday after it informed NBC that it is responsible for the ongoing global cyber disruption that is impacting airlines, media, banks, and telecommunications services worldwide.
According to the company, the disruption was caused by a problem with their most recent update of Crowdstrike Falcon Sensor antivirus software on Windows computers. CrowdStrike is currently in the process of reverting to the previous update on a global scale.
"CrowdStrike is aware of reports of crashes on Windows hosts related to the Falcon Sensor," CrowdStrike said in a recorded message.
The firm's shares nosedived by 14.33% to $49.17 at 4:11 am ET.
