United States Department of Justice warned the White House that President Donald Trump's decision to declare a national emergency is "nearly certain" to be blocked in courts, ABC News reported. The block is expected to be "at least temporary."
Meanwhile, an unnamed senior White House official told ABC News that "the administration is confident it could ultimately win the case on appeal." Trump has not yet declared a national emergency, but Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell announced the president will do so. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders also asserted the administration is "very prepared" for the possible legal challenges, although she added that there should not be any, since Trump is "doing his job."
