The Elysee Palace has denied media reports suggesting that President Emmanuel Macron might resign, French Europe 1 station reported on Tuesday citing the presidential's office.

Earlier this morning, the radio station reported that the president had discussed resignation with one of his interlocutors in recent weeks, with the source claiming that the 46-year-old head of state would be "ready to sacrifice the end of his five-year term."

On June 12, the French president is expected to hold his first public briefing after he dissolved the National Assembly and called for early elections on June 30 and July 7 following his party's defeat in European parliamentary elections. The conference was initially scheduled to take place today.
