Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Wednesday that his country's focus has moved to the northern front and conflict with Hezbollah, stressing that a "new phase" of the war is starting.
"The center of gravity is moving north. We are diverting forces, resources, and energy toward the north," Gallant stated during his visit to Israeli Air Force personnel at the Ramat David Airbase. "We will need consistency over time, this war requires great courage, determination, and perseverance," he underlined, adding that the main goal is to create conditions for the residents from northern towns to return to their homes.
However, Gallant insisted that Israel has "not forgotten the hostages" held by Hamas in Gaza while ensuring that the military will continue fighting Hamas in the enclave and achieving its goals.
