Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis announced Monday that the company plans to relaunch the Gemini AI image generation tool in the coming weeks. The announcement was made during a panel at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
"We have taken the feature offline while we fix that. We are hoping to have that back online very shortly in the next couple of weeks, a few weeks", Hassabis said, adding that the tool was not "working the way we intended."
The tool, which creates images of people, was put on hiatus last week due to inaccuracies in historical depictions pointed out by users on social media.
