Iran's ambassador to Syria Hossein Akbari said on Monday that the recent attack on their consulate in Damascus will prompt retaliation.
During a televised speech, he stated that the diplomatic building was hit by F-35 warplanes and six missiles, resulting in the death of "between five and seven people." However, he emphasized that the exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed. He also warned of an impending "decisive response" to this attack.
"I was at my workplace in the embassy and I saw from my room that the building was damaged. It is not the first time that the Zionist regime has committed crimes against diplomats, and so far this regime has committed many crimes against diplomats. Today, the Zionists committed this crime and attacked the Iranian consulate building, which is located next to the embassy," he noted.
